The Gateway To Compliance Heaven: Gateway Check

The Gateway To Compliance Heaven: Gateway Check

We believe the best features are built with our clients, not just for them. That belief guided us in creating one of our latest capabilities: the Gateway Check.

We also know that compliance shouldn’t start at the production line, or when it’s almost too late. Instead it should be handed well in advance, and maybe so much in advance that we’re talking before the goods even reach the plant.

The Challenge

For many of our clients, the risks don’t lie only in missing documents. The bigger problems arise when:

  • A Due Diligence Statement (DDS) reference turns out to be invalid.

  • A geolocation file’s risk assessment score exceeds acceptable thresholds under EUDR.

  • Supplier documentation isn’t ready in time for scheduled deliveries.

These issues, if caught too late, can force costly delays, rejected deliveries, or even full batch recalls. However, traditionally, these checks happen manually at the point of Goods Received (GR), often leaving little time to react if something isn’t right.

Some of the bigger issues that might arise:

  • Barriers to market access-

  • Duplicated registrations across company groups.

  • Fragmented documentation that increases audit risk.

So, when clients told us they needed something more proactive without introducing more complexity or risking compliance gaps. We decided it was time to come up with a new functionality.

The Co-Creation Process

Together with one of our clients we mapped the problem. In a requirements-gathering session, they defined exactly what they needed the feature to do.

We took those requirements, turned them into a step-through prototype, and presented it back as a proposed solution.

Their feedback helped us refine the concept, and quickly move it into an MVP build.

The response has been incredibly positive. The client, who we co-created the feature with, is already discussing future improvements, while other clients have told us it answers many of their toughest compliance questions.’

The Solution: Gateway Check

Gateway Check acts as a compliance safeguard before deliveries even arrive.

Key capabilities include:

✅ Auto-verifying that required data and files are present, and flagging issues if not.

🔔 Alerts flagged at PO line item when a delivery is missing associated DDS references or supplier geolocation files.

⚠️ Cautions when delivery dates are approaching but supplier documentation remains incomplete.

📊 Early visibility: issues can be flagged up to three days before delivery, giving teams time to resolve them before goods are received.

This isn’t just about ticking regulatory boxes: it’s about reducing admin burden, avoiding fragmented workflows, and giving businesses confidence that their compliance is audit-ready.

The Value

With Gateway Check, clients gain:

  • Proactive risk management instead of reactive checks, in advance of delivery.

  • Time to act, with issues flagged before delivery attempts.

  • Audit-ready compliance that prevents costly downstream recalls.

  • Peace of mind, knowing production lines won’t be disrupted by late-discovered risks.

What’s Next

Gateway Check is live in MVP and already proving valuable. As with all our features, we’ll continue refining it based on real-world use and direct client feedback, including how it can be further automated and integrated with ERP workflows.

This is another step toward making compliance seamless, preventative, and reliable across global supply chains.
